Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NICCI) and Bagmati University Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Strengthen Academia-Industry Collaboration

Kathmandu, Nepal – August 27, 2026, The Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NICCI) and Bagmati University today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at promoting institutional collaboration between the two institutions and bridging the gap between academia and industry. The partnership will focus on internship, facilitating placement, joint research initiatives, academic-industry exchange, skill and capacity-building programs, and the co-hosting of training sessions, workshops, conferences, and seminars.

 

The agreement seeks to build a dynamic interface between academic knowledge and industry practice, equipping students with practical skills while strengthening innovation and entrepreneurship through joint efforts.

 

The MoU was signed by Sunil K.C., President of NICCI, and Prof. Dr. Chandra Mani Poudel, President of Bagmati University.

 

Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate to establish a platform for:

1. Internship and Job Placement Facilitation

2. Joint Research and Innovation

3. Capacity-Building and Training

4. Academia-Industry Conferences, Summits, Workshops, and Seminars

5. Knowledge Exchange and Publications

6. Curriculum and Pedagogy Enrichment

8. Joint Projects and Case Studies

9. Student and Faculty Engagement

10. Policy Advocacy and Thought Leadership

11. Infrastructure and Center Development

 

The presidents of both institutions expressed confidence that the partnership will strengthen academia-industry collaboration, enhance youth skills, and encourage entrepreneurship in the years ahead.
